Critically Writing

This is a great session. The MEAL Plan is a perfect solution to us struggling with writing when we don't write for scholarship. I write at work all the time. I write emails, requirements plans, change management plan, and plenty that times of work.

Scholarly writing is a crazy thing. It's organized and it's balanced. You need to make sure that you back up what you say. Hmmm...provide evidence? provide analysis? link to the next part of the paper? Don't get that! Thanks for helping me get through the the MEAL plan. I get it now. It's actually logical (huh?).

There are

Write to express, not to impress! Thanks for the quote.

Dallas welcomes Capella University; Capella warms me

Attending Capella University is a journey that I think you get to experience once in your life. The commitment to get an advanced degree was at the onset as easy one. I didn't get it. I thought it was a degree that I could gain from sitting at my computer in my pajamas when everyone is sleeping in my house. It was a personal thing that only mattered to me.

I worked and completed coursework. I found myself asking why. The questions were fast and furious -- why, why, why, WHY, WHY!!!!!!! What do I have to prove? Will I really use this degree? Will I make back the money I'm spending? Will I ever, EVER get back the sleep I'm losing?

The pity party has passed and I see the value. I joined 999 other learners that will eventually become Dr PHD. And Wow! This is a rush. It's a an experience I'm having difficulty processing. There are a lot of emotions rolling around in my tummy and my heart. It's a feeling of elation, awe, happiness and pride. I'm proud to know these folks and to also know that there are a lot of others coming behind us.

Get ready, Letitia's online

Hey ya'll!!

I encourage and help others to maintain an online journal of thoughts, musings and just general stuff. However, I've had this blog and not updated since the summer. So, every time I think about it (moving forward), I'll get some thoughts on here and hopefully, you'll share your insights on my thoughts.

It's been a challenging year! Well, actually a challenging number of years.

Introducing.... Me

Hello everyone! I'm Letitia Andrews, Co-Director, ExtremeTechnoCamp 2007. I think you should know a little bit more about myself. I've lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for about 10 years. I originally worked here with a software company, SEER Technologies. The project that I worked on was with AAFEES in South Dallas. It was a big software conversion project creating a tracking system for the clothing tracking system used by the buyers and stores getting the clothing.

It's that time again

Every time we start a new Extreme Techno Camp, I get excited. I can't sleep the night prior to class starting as I'm wondering about the students, the computer equipment, our interactions.

The field of technology continues to evolve. There's new stuff all the time. (Well it seems as if it's everyday!) The work we'll complete together is an outstanding opportunity to grow. Seize it and allow yourself to experience the full range that is available with this technology.

This week, we'll get acquainted, start our online journaling (webblogging), create a web banner, create a web site for content and the banners, build animated character and practice our skills. I can't wait to see your results.

Oh, you know what? I just saw a cool link. Check it out:

Greetings All!

There's a lot of responsibility when you decide to maintain a blog. I hope to keep up the work when it comes to having hot, new content for your review.
